AM-FM Viscoelastic Mapping Mode

AM-FM mode combines the features and benefits of normal tapping mode with nanomechanical property mapping. Normal tapping mode provides non-invasive, high-resolution topographical imaging while the resonance of the second mode is analyzed to quantitatively estimate both the elastic and loss moduli of the material and the tip-sample dissipation. AM-FM Application Note

 

Contact Resonance Viscoelastic Mapping Mode

Exclusive Asylum technologies like Dual AC™ Resonance Tracking (DART) and Band Excitation improve the sensitivity and accuracy of the contact resonance technique to enable quantitative mapping of both elasticity and viscoelastic damping for materials in the ~1 GPa to 100’s GPa modulus range. Asylum offers two configurations, driving either the sample or the probe, for wide-band, frequency-independent actuation. Contact Resonance Application Note

Fast Force Mapping Mode

Maps force-distance curves at high speed (up to 300 Hz) while capturing every curve in the image. Both realtime and offline analysis models can be applied to calculate modulus, adhesion and other properties. Available only on the MFP-3D Infinity. Available soon on Cypher AFMs.

 

Nanoindentation

The MFP NanoIndenter enables true instrumented nanoindentation for quantitative measurements with the highest accuracy. Two force ranges are available: Standard (maximum load 20 mN, noise floor 75 nN) and Low Force (maximum load 4 mN, noise floor 15 nN). NanoIndenter Data Sheet

 

Ztherm Modulated Thermal Analysis

Ztherm™ provides the most sensitive and highest resolution melting and glass transition temperature analysis available. It uses patent-pending cantilever drift compensation and novel measurement techniques to provide highly localized heating with unprecedented sensitivity to material property changes in sub-zeptoliter volumes (<10-22 L). Ztherm Application Note

 

Scanning Thermal Microscopy (SThM)

Novel microfabricated silicon probes and the SThM probe holder enable both single point and mapping measurements of temperature and thermal conductivity with higher resolution than conventional Wollaston-wire probes.
